I have a 9600XT 128MB card and it plays BF2 perfectly on medium settings. I wonder why you are struggling with that card. Are you running it maxed on teh settings or what?
If you want a recommendation you might want to mention a few items:
AGP or PCI-E
Price range
ATI OR NVIDIA preference?
IF PCI Express:
7800GTX/256M/HDTV/2DVI ☆入荷しました!
GeForce7800GTX/GDDRV256MB(256bit)/PCI-E

[在庫・納期] 4-5日
出力:DVI-I x2/TV-Out(HDTV)
That is a beast of a card, and a decent intro price for the near highest end out at this moment.
If you are stuck with AGP:
WinFast A400 GT TDH 256MB
GeForce6800GT/AGP8x
[商品番号001372385]New Price!
\38,780(税込) \36,933(税別)
[在庫・納期] 4-5日
Shader3.0等最新3D機能に対応したGeForce6800GT搭載!
■冷却効率を高め、動作音を抑えたAir surroundファン採用
■高速GDDRV256MB/TV-OUT/DVI/D-sub15
That is one of the best AGP cards out and another great price.

That Geforce one looks decent enough.
Not sure what the problem is with the card, I can get through the intro screen, but when the game starts the card crashes. IT's set at AGP 8x which is max, not too sure why it wont run. For all other things, I think its all maxed out. When I get it going, lets go kick some ass

A patch has been released. You may want to update it?
Also, try it with all the settings on low. Does it work? If so, then gradually move the settings up until it becomes unstable and then back it down. That should put your settings where they are properly supposed to be.

OK this is offically fucked. I got the 'demo' version and I get the opening credits and it crashes at the big BATTLEFIELD 2 screen. So I dont have a chance to lower the graphics in the game. Looks like this card aint supported.

Have you thought about going into your BIOS and resetting back to performance defaults? If that doesn't work, try resetting to standard defaults. You also may need a BIOS update... what motherboard are you using? :?:

OK, yes setting everything to default (on the card) and instead of 8x , changing to 4x it worked! Battlefield 2 is great! Went to bed at 4am playing it

Wow - I just went to the B2 website over at EA games, and watched the promo video "The loop" - which shows the basic foodchain in military terms. That game is amazing.

A couple of 5min videos of very cool stunts performed in BF2:
(like soldiers jumping into low flying F15s and jumping from jets to choppers midair to the sound of Guns and Roses)
