GJ, that should work for you. A quick geek-up on Apple stuff between beer stops. Maybe you can stop off at a combini and take a tall boy inside...?

Wish I was there... (But damn Manzanita beach was nice this weekend!)

Just like the Ginza shop, I bet the main attraction at the new Shibuya shop will be i-Pod. i-Pod is pretty much the single most selling item Apple has to offer.

I really don't see the point of having all these Apple showrooms except for the purpose of PRing. i-Pods and Mac computers are available elsewhere like Bicamera.

they should have stock of the first apple 2 button mouse (http://www.apple.com/mightymouse/) by opening day

in other news Apple Expands iPod Trademark to Include Video (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2005/08/20050802001855.shtml)

Up near the Parco dept store? Near the Disney store? Too hot to wander the streets and look at buildings. Definitely too hot to line up..

Since it's going to be shit-packed like any other event in this good ol' nippon, I say someone camp out in the line already for the rest of us

You know what, you're right, except that the Biccamera guys don't know jack, and they cannot give you the "Hommie hook-up" like we can. Service by far between the two is like night and day.

So do you work there?
Also, Apple has the "Genius Bar".
At BIC Camera they just have Captain Useless.

Yes, I do.
Though I should point out without going into detail that situations can vary on the "hommie-hookup" aspect, but all in all I feel that the point of service is way ahead of Bic's game. In the apple store when you ask us something of detail, If I don't know, someone does, and you can get to the skinny in due result, quickly might I add. I went into Bic Camera recently, asked a question, and Capt. Useless fuck came back 15minutes later to tell me he found a 3rd gen ipod case for me in the back but he can only take 70 yen off a product that is no longer sold..

But you gotta remember that Bic's "useless fucks" only have the general knowledge of their products and they don't have guys specializing in one specific product like you guys do in Apple. If I wanted an ipod at the Apple store, then Mr. Ipod would come blabbing away his expertise on ipod. If I wanted a G5, then they would call Mr. G5 to show around and so on. You don't expect that same customer service at Bic.

you wont get 'tentacle rape porn' at an apple store and points back from your purchase to spend on a bottle of 12 year old whiskey

I don't know about that or maybe I'm missing out on something
As far as the points go, it's great. I buy stuff for work there, and I get reimbursed for the expenses while I collect the points. I once had about 50,000 yen worth of points as a result of this and ended up getting a PSX and an oil heater stove.
