But have a few questions. I lived
in Japan from 2003 - 2007 and I left the country without giving up my gaijin card. I said I was going to a wedding (actually I was finished with my contract and was done)and told customs I would be back so I didn't give it up. ( I wanted it as a momento) But I have heard that since I didn't surrender my gaijin card to immigration that getting back into japan will be a problem. Is this true?

Now I read about heavy handed immigration in Japan. Are they going to look back to my violation of not leaving my gaijin card with Japanese officials (becuase my intention was to return but I didn't) Any help. Thanks.

So from 2003-2007... wow, what kind of time machine do you have?

Yes, you are truly fucked, unless you closely follow my advice. There's one of two things that you must do, either:

(1) take off and nuke the site from orbit, or,

(2) pay more attention to the clitoris.

These two simple truths have gotten me out of trouble more than once. I can't recall which one will help you out of your current predicament, but I just know that one of them will help you. All the best!

They're probably going to arrest you and send you to a re-education camp/day spa in some rotten town like Kawasaki.

If you want to be sure, I would contact the Japanese embassy. Whatever they tell you, get a name and get it in writing.
