Viewing from i-mode phone

Hey Ultra,

I love the fact that I can check the board from my phone. However, after the first 3 messages or so, it gets truncated due to size limitations of the phone. :(

Is it possible to have the pages resize on the fly when accessed with a phone browser? You have stripped out all of the heavy graphics successfully which (further) demonstrates your brilliance (crawl, crawl, grovel, grovel).

I am not worried about word wrapping but it would be great to make sure I don't miss anything. :lol:

Yes I know what you are all thinking... I don't have a life, but it is Winter and too cold to go rollerblading. A girl has to have something to do in her spare (yeah right) time. 8O

Wow, I'm amazed that someone is actually using that feature.

Unfortunately, with my limited skills the only way I can see to change the number of messages per page would be to change it for all users on the regular board, which isn't a good solution. I can shorten the number of topics displayed on the main 'imode.php' if that would help.

I would suggest you get a new phone or a PDA phone that has more memory to display the full pages... :wink:

Ok, well I decided to actually look at the code. :oops:

I think I've got it working now. Right now, it's set to 3 posts per page. There's no way to limit the length of the text of one post, so long posts might be a problem for your phone.

Let me know how this is working for you. I could also change it to 1 or 2 post per page, if you want. Of course, that still wouldn't solve the long post problem.

Btw, I also added a second set of 'Goto page number/previous/next' on the bottom of each page so you dont have to scroll up to the top.

It's not really imode. It should work in a J-phone browser too. (I never touch those DoCoMo phones myself.)

What happens when you type in the url?

I could lower the number of topics on the first page, but I'm not sure if that would help.

My old (2+ years) J-phone used to be able to display most normal web pages (like Yahoo! or whatever) even if they weren't formatted for a phone. Maybe your phone only accepts specially formatted pages (not just any old html).

Yep I tried on a J-Phone too and could read but not post. The main difference between the browsers in J-Phone and DoCoMo is the way that graphics need to be handled.

I could tell you more but that is what I get paid the big (yeah right) bucks for!! :lol: :lol:

If you want to retain your sanity, I suggest that you avoid EZWeb like the clap as it uses 2 different WAP protocols. The newer one is straight XML (WAP 2.0) which makes life easier but most people still have the older phones. You basically need to re-write the whole code... :cry:

Word Annihilation and Notice Kill-off (WANK for short) involves self-edit and deletion of the content of your own posts. While a quick WANK will remove the content, there will be still something left after the WANK, which only a mod can clean up.

I can see all topics via ezweb but not enter. That's a huge basket of wagashi behind the window. It hurts!!! poor me! :D

Sorry to nitpick.. but the paketo-houd
ai systems allows unlimited "packets" so that works for mail, web-surfing as well as downloads onto your phone.

A Packet is a measure of the data transmission to and from your phone. Before the Houdai plans, the carriers have made a fortune in these fees. My own bill used to be upwards of \30,000 per month mainly in packet fees as I rarely talk on the phone. But the new plans mean that it is easier to budget as there is flat rate per month and unlimited packets. YAY!!!
