Can i be issued with a work visa, if i'm sponsored but I haven't got a bachelor's degree. I have a two year Advanced Diploma in Information Technology. Could I still score a work visa?
Thanks

All depends on how well your employer fills out the forms and what mood the boys at Otemachi are in on the day your application is assessed.
The fact that you have some qualifications will be in your favour.
Get a job first and let your employer sort it out.

Each work visa is determined on a case by case basis. There are people who dont have a degree that are successful but their sponsor needs to put forward a good reason as to why they have to have you. Skills and resumes are considered as well as the type of work. No hard and fast rules but is easier with a degree.
Freelancers/self sponsors need to show contracts with companies to proove you can support yourself and pay your taxes.

YES, Gomigirl is quite right.
The old "Case-by-Case" phrase-of-the-moon aspect of Japanese visas can work to your advantage IF you are real sharp and look and act like it.
Basically, anything in Japan is "possible" but getting a work visa without a degree can be pain in the koshi. As I mentioned before in the thread Working Visa without Degree (http://www.fuckedgaijin.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1720&highlight=work+visa) about one of your countymen here in Japan, the multimillionare Terry Lloyd...
"For example: The extremely successful entrepreneur, Terry Lloyd of JapanInc.com brags about being a high-school dropout." <<but he did have a technical degree with less than 1 year study>>
