I was just wondering what made you decide to use postnuke rather than something like phpnuke. Any specific reasons?

This board software works too, cool stuff. I have been using ikonborad in the past. Nice site! I'll be back ;)

Thanks for stopping by. Spread the word too!

From my brief research into things, I gathered that PostNuke is a fork of PHPNuke that has more active developers working on it and therefore more support (and tighter code?).

Actually, I would have preferred to go with a simpler PHPBB portal, to tightly integrate things. Unfortunately, that is still in the early planning stages. So far PN is working well. There's a bit of a learning curve for me, but the more I play with it, the more possibilites appear. We'll see how the site evolves...

Sounds good man! I'm working on my own Japan related site as well. We have different angles though. Mine is more of a helping the new people kinda thing.

Check it out ;) It's been taken a *long* time to get the few dedicated 'mmebers' that I have on the boards though...

What techniques do you use for advertising? I can't even remember how I found your site... funny how that works.

Oh one more question, is this site a one-man show? It looks very nice dude! Keep up the good work :D

FG is more of a bitch and whine board for old timers...(j/k, well sort of). But seriously, we're hoping to build a community of folks who relish the ironic side of life in Japan, and can share their travails and successes. We'd also like to think of FG as a truly open forum, unlike other sites with more restrictive moderation.

Of course, with the wealth of knowledge from our combined experiences, we should also be able to help out the FOBs too (when we're not too busy making fun of them). The Campus (http://www.fuckedgaijin.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=8) board, for example, is specifically aimed at current and prospective exchange students.

Well then, why don't you add your link (http://www.fuckedgaijin.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Web_Links&file=index&req=AddLink) to our Web Links. That's what it's there for.

It's just getting out by word of mouth, or other sites linking to us. Truly F*cked Gaijin should be able find us. We're trying to build a quality member base, to sustain interesting and entertaining discussion.

As for the last question, we're a small group of FGs trying to put together a site we'd want to visit. We'd been kicking around the idea for a few years over many a Dai-Joki, and we still haven't found any other sites like what we had envisioned, so here it is!

So, who are you guys anyway? What do you do? Are you guys English teachers? Something else?

I guess our sites can work together quite well. JapanNewbie will help people get to Japan, so that they too, can become f#ckedgaijin. Then, once they are f#cked, they can come over to your site for stress relief!

Oh yeah! 8)

Sounds good. The crew are all professionals, no English teachers in the bunch. No offense ETs, but in my case, it's just that I can't speak decent English to save my life. Some of us are currently more employed than others, while some of us have more time to work on frivolous websites.
