"DoCoMo will introduce a new billing system that enables "i-mode" subscribers to pay their monthly cellphone bills at convenience stores using a bar code displayed on the screens of their cellphones." (http://sg.biz.yahoo.com/020515/15/2pjnu.html)
DoCoMo said the new system can be used from May 20 at two am/pm convenience stores, and then at about 1,400 am/pm Japan stores nationwide by early July.
The system will also be available at several Lawson convenience stores by mid-July and at some 700 Lawson stores in Tokyo and Nagoya in September, DoCoMo said.
There is no fee for the service, but users will need to pay a small transmission charge to download the bar code.
