View Full Version : Any chance for bigger avatars?

I don't know if this has come up before, but is there any chance the maximum avatar size can be raised above the current 110x110? I've found a few I'd like to use, and they're generally vertical rectangular, so they wouldn't scale very well to a 110-pixel height.

I can see the reason for having a size limit, as one of the other boards I go on doesn't have one, and ends up with users posting 500-pixel wide images that wreck the formatting of the board.

Would going up to 150x200 (or somewhere around there) work here? The images are coming from other severs (for most of us) so that shouldn't have any real effect on the FG bandwidth, right?

Just a thought.

Well, that one's 319x236, a tad large for an avatar. Scale it down a bit and go crazy! :)

None of the ones I've used have been hosted on FG. I can host my own stuff.

I was asking if they max size could go above 110x110. Some of the images I'd like to use, if cropped to that size, would come out around 50x110 - a tad small for a vertical image. It'd lose any real detail it may have had.

I have been trying all day to get my new avatar working. I think the file size is to big but i cant give up. My new avatar is so sexy....

Seems to be showing up over here, and the image size is 128x128. Yet in the profile screen it still says avatars are limited to 110x110. Hmmm.....

Damb It might be bacasue I posted the Image, then it gets loaded into your cache, But she is cute aint she!!

Its far from being just a cartoon, are you actualy looking at it. Its a gangero/yamambe cartoon, So damb sexy. I wish I knew a girl like that... Hmmm actualy I do they are everywhere in japan :bowdown:

As it happens some of be biggest crushes have been on manga girls. So suprises there...

Before you girls see distain in my liking manga girls. Plenty of women read mills and boons and fall in love with totally fictitious characters at least I can see mine.

Well, hell, you're right. I must have clicked the "reset" rather than "resubmit" button.

I'm surprised nobody has tried a Flash avatar yet. The file size for an entire Itchy and Scratchy cartoon ought to work with optimized Flash. Hmmmm.
