New Feature: Recent Posts pages for all

I'm testing out a new feature for the Main Page (http://www.fuckedgaijin.com/) of the site.

All FG members now have their own personalized portal page. Your 20 most recent new posts (not replies) will show up on the page. Unlike the normal Main Page (http://www.fuckedgaijin.com/), posts from all public forums in the General section (http://www.fuckedgaijin.com/forum/index.php?c=2) will be displayed, except for posts in 'Tatami' and 'FS/FT/WTB'.

You can view any member's personal page by clicking the 'Recent Posts' link below the 'Location' entry next to each post or on their Profile page.

Below are links to the Top Poster pages. Top Posters are also linked on the left-hand side menu on the Main Page (http://www.fuckedgaijin.com/).

For reasons of discussion I wonder outloud as to the value of 'top posters' simply meaning 'total' number of posts. I'm sure it's been discussed elsewhere.

Isn't there some sort of 'value' formula combining the following criteria

- number of thread starting posts * number of replies * number of different members who reply * longevity of thread etc etc.

Naturally under such a scheme I would want to come out on top so any caluclations would have to take that into account by applying the following function

1 If name not Steve Bildermann then multiple final score by .5'
2 store 'final score'
3 compare 'final score' to 'final score Steve Bildermann'
4 if result > than 'final score Steve Bildermann' Goto 1
5 End loop
6 Print 'Well done Steve you are a real asset to the FG Forum'

Not too much to ask right :D

UPDATE:

I've got it working closer to the way I want now. The original links I posted yesterday will not work anymore, but I've updated the original post and the Main Page (http://www.fuckedgaijin.com) with the new links.

As a result of the changes, all members now have their own personal Recent Posts page. You can view anyone's Recent Posts page with the link under their 'Location' next to each post and on their Profile page.

This is a nice innovation. I hope it encourages people to post more original content instead of just replying (myself included).

I've just added a similar portal view for forums, so you can quickly skim the topics in a single forum category.
