Re: Remember the Gay '90s?

At least, that loser mustachioed whitey who touted for that titty bar upstairs from Propaganda seems to have fucked off forever. Or, maybe he got promoted and is working the streets of Kabukicho... At least before 3.11 he'd moved to Kabukicho. I bumped into him there but I haven't crawled around th...

Re: What's up with the value of the YEN?

The way Abe was talking it was a real Christmas gift to sell the yen over the past two weeks.

Even though I can't vote here; if I could, I surely would.

Re: Here we go again...

tl;dr it all, but I did note that our hero, whose colleague Nelson Rand survived being shot three times during the Red Shirt Rebellion in Bangkok, ran out of the shower and watched the magnitude 9.0 earthquake shake his Japanese-style home for about 4 minutes on March 11, 2011. Given his lifestyle,...

Re: A bit windy out there

I just hope World War III or the implosion of the western world never happens during a typhoon hitting Japan. We would never hear about it.

Re: Here we go again...

I think this is the salient point here. The sense of entitlement that people feel after living here for a while. For all our whinging, FG's can get away with lots of stuff here that Japanese nationals don't have to. Like the very rigid social structures and bureaucracy that we just get other people...

Re: Japan - and the point of being here is?

I don't know, from what I see, read and hear the P4P scene in Korea is more closed off to gaijin than in Japan. I hear also that a lot of Korean chaps are arseholes towards gaijin. All on hearsay. I've been tempted to hop over for a weekend of fun a few times. Mates have always dissuaded me from it ...

Re: We dont have nail clippers in the UK.

I just figure, if you're not getting laid or not making money, there's not much point being in this cuntry... Truer words have never been spoken. That probably applies to most any country though. Yeah, but unless it's some thirdworld shithole in most other countries they normally have houses you'd ...

Re: Can you do this Japanese girl?

So Craig's List is where these adverts are now being placed?

I derive only a fraction of the entertainment from the Metropolis advertisements that I used to. It's most depressing.

Re: 'Is Japan cool?'

Music is dead here now. Surely you must be kidding? AKB General Elections are now televised live on the idiot box...music simply cannot get any livelier than that! Re: 'Is Japan cool?'

Maybe not as cool as it used to be. In the 90s it seemed pretty cool. There was a lot of good Japanese music about, Japanese in London were mostly pretty trendy. Seems that lots of Japanese brands started to come on the international scene and really gain a presence during that decade (Comme des Gar...

Re: Barrier free-for-all

Given the aging demographic trends, I get the impression that Tokyo is poorly prepared for coping with an aged society. Either mobility/quality of life will decline or there will be a lot of broken hips or other injuries. Maybe the elderly will just hide away somewhere, like disabled people.

Re: Murder in Roppongi last night

News outlets are reporting that the victim was restaurateur named Ryosuke Fujimoto (藤本亮介) and some Japanese bloggers are claiming Fujimoto was a Zainichi Korean who ran a yakiniku place in Shibuya called Meushi (雌牛). I knew gaijin had to be involved somehow. Tsuyoshi Natsuno, a professor at the Kei...

Indeed....though if the d00d was a visa over stayer at the time of the crime, he totally helped Japan fuck himself. (in Japan's eyes anyways) I don't know the detailed ins and outs, but find it quite wrong that they can effectively imprison a chap for 15 years for overstaying his visa. Wrongful imp...
