Re: United States of Spying

Encryption wars heating up in wake of terror attacks It took nearly two weeks for French officials to piece together how a team of nine terrorists planned the deadly Nov. 13 terrorist attacks in Paris that killed 130. Re: Back in the house b*tch! (J-Wify wants it that way)

It can be a double edged sword. Speak frankly with women in the Nordic countries and you will find many of them are not entirely happy that they feel forced to participate in the workforce. Sure, there is universal childcare but not everyone wants to deliver their children up to strangers in an ins...

Re: Back in the house b*tch! (J-Wify wants it that way)

The problem is Japanese women opting out and WHY they are opting out. It's the CULTURE of forcing Japanese women out after they reach a certain age or get pregnant. THAT is what must be attacked and a penalizing of companies that do this. Anything else is just a sop to the idea of equality or progr...

Re: Back in the house b*tch! (J-Wify wants it that way)

The easiest way to solve the problem would just be to require companies to have female managers and to pay some tax penalty otherwise (this is already done for the disabled, although just in general employment). Companies will bitch and moan but it'll get done. Plus what's the worst that could happ...

Reality check time. Japan cut its target for women in leadership positions from 30% to 7% For years Japan’s government has been touting a goal to increase the number of women in senior jobs, both in the private and public sectors. In 2003, then-prime minister Junichiro Koizumi proposed the goal of h...

Re: IP address blocking

It does seem weird that they would block users in Japan from looking at their site. They don't have to deliver to customers here just because people can see their website. I guess it could be a way of keeping traffic that's not going to lead to a sale down.

Re: 12 dead in Paris shooting

Good point about the abortion clinic killings, though. I wonder how much domestic political considerations play into that sort of linguistic gerrymandering? On the flip side calling something terrorism that might not be means much stiffer penalties and, in the case of the US, federal charges. Haras...
