Big Rigs and Fine Art

Postby jingai » Wed May 07, 2003 6:20 am

In Japan, air-brushed trucks with reflective surfaces, and enough lighting for a Takarazuka stage show rumble down rural roads at slow speeds.

What's that thing coming down the highway? Is it a big rig, or a pachinko parlor on wheels? No, it's an Art Truck (aka decoration truck).

The Stephen King big truck scary movie was a theatrical release called "Maximum Overdrive("1986) which King wrote the screenplay for and directed.(It was based off his short story "Trucks".)

It starred Emilio Estevez and was about all the machines on earth going berserk and killing people.(The steamroller going over a little league baseball player was especially nasty.) :puke:

Probably the first big truck scary movie, was the made for tv movie "Duel".(1973) It was directed by Stephen Spielberg, and starred Dennis Weaver as a electronics salesman in a deadly cat-and-mouse game with a psychotic 18 wheeler driver.

I think you mean Steven Spielberg.

King was responsible for Trucks and Maximum Overdrive, both based on the same short story, Trucks, from his Night Shift collection.
