Dated a Korean chick in college who went to church at least 3 times a week, perhaps to atone for what we were doing in the dorm room. It appeared to be more of a social group for a lot of Koreans in LA, where they'd go to church to meet their "group".

According to polls I've read most Koreans are not very religious but a huge chunk of the population is either funadmentalist Christian or hardcore Buddhist. I heard from an Asian history professor in college that one of the reasons Christianity stuck in Korea is churches where one of the main places that the nationalist movement and resistance against the Japanese grew and
formed during the occupation.

I also think it's because Koreans just tend to be extreme by nature. Look at the way North Korean newscasts praise Kim Jong Il. In the South they're extreme nationalists, extreme racists, and extreme Confucians. They're also extreme alchoholics and exreme workaholics. I doubt there's a word for moderation in their language.

I don't know about all those extremes but I do know I found it extremely hard to get laid there. And any bitch who won't fuck me is out of her Goddamn mind.

I tried dating Korean girls in college and experienced utter failure. They were either too religious or very weird or both (maybe the religion and weirdness fed off each other).

I've heard conflicting things. One English teacher in Korea once stated "Korean girls are chaste all their lives... until they meet you!" - but that was just one man's opinion.

In my experience, the Korean FOBs in Japan aren't that cute. I base that on my experience studying at a Japanese language school that was at least 80% Korean. When I taught at a school that was at least 50% Korean in the US it was totally different. There were a lot of cute girls. I think it's because the Koreans who study in the US come from rich families. In other words, they're the daughters of trophy wives.

One thing I noticed about Korea (both North and South) is that they are always the follower and never the leader. Name one thing Korea is proud to be the originator of anything... Samsung.. no (copied Sony).. Hyundai.. no.. (copied Honda) uhh.. Korean BBQ.. OK I give you for that but other than that, they got dick to offer. The same applies to their tendency to follow this lame shit called god and preach their brainwashing on others. It is strange how Christianity found its way to Korea though.

That's true for K-girls in L.A. - extremely hot chicks in K-town clubs. I went to Velfarre in LA's K-town and my jaw hit the floor. I don't know if Velfarre is still the place to be (maybe Sparkle can weigh in), but the talent was fantastic back in the late 90s.

From what I've seen in Seoul, the percentage of K-girls that are hot is very high indeed. And as much as I like J-girls, higher than the percentage of J-girls in Tokyo.

My wife and the female members of her family all say that Korean women are really beautiful. I wonder if that is a common perception in Japan?

I was thinking about that when I was in Seoul earlier this month. In places like Apgujong I see tons of drop dead gorgeous women walking around. I never see anything like that in Tokyo. I think it's because there's not one area in Tokyo where all of the aspiring actresses and models go to be seen. I don't know if the percentage of good looking women is actually higher or not in Seoul than in Tokyo, but they all seem to congregate in certain areas in Seoul.

I've heard Japanese women say Koreans are beautiful because of plastic surgery. Sounds like sour grapes to me.
