Lost in Translation not until May 2004? WTF? That's like 7 months after the US debut. The DVD will be out by then.

Depending on where you live, it may already be out. I picked up a pristine copy in Seoul this weekend. Bootleg, yes, but great quality. :)

Hey I'm LAME .....so I hope that pristine copy is in the wide-screen format to play on my big screen HiVision for the private showing of 'Lost in Translation' at the Taro-Batcave during the state visit of "Caustic Saint".. :P

You can always go to the Korean-run video rental shops here in Japan... they always got the new vids as soon as they're released in Korea. You just gotta deal with the Korean subtitles... or download it (but then I got stuck with Italian subtitles).

I'm pretty sure it is. Have to doublecheck it tonight.

It's actually my second copy. The one I picked up on Saturday had some bad encoding that didn't show up until over an hour into the movie. It was so bad that instead of the regular "bootleg stutter" the disc became completely unplayable. Fortunately the dealer I got it from gave me a refund on Sunday. (I could've exchanged it, but the only thing he had that caught my eye was "Bad Santa" and it was a really bad rip.) The guy two stands away had much better copies, so I got one from him.

Fire up that Bat-DVD player, Taro! :D

Caustic Saint- if you can find a copy of that Australian Movie, "Japanese Story" I'll cover your costs as I'd love to see that one too.

hmmm... definitely mixed reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. I still want to see it though.

Mission Control Taro, we have a go on widescreen. :)

Gkanai, I'll keep an eye out for your movie, but it's unlikely to turn up at the markets here. They mostly go for the new releases and older popular stuff.
