Foreigners Wanted For Tokyo Olympic Bid

TMG: Recruitment of International Staff for the TOKYO 2016 Olympic Games Bid Committee
The TOKYO 2016 Olympic Games Bid Committee is recruiting international staff members. Duties include the translation of documents and materials (Japanese-to-English and English-to-Japanese), liaising and coordinating with overseas organizations, etc.

Please refer to the following documents for details:

Recruitment Procedures (PDF)

Application Form (PDF). Also in Word Format

Test Translations (PDF)

"Answer Sheet" (Word) - [This is a virtually blank document but presumably you fail if you don't use it]

Candidates must be native English speakers with at least a B.A. You would be a part-time employee on a three month renewable contract, expected to work 2-3 days a week for eight hours a day with "occasional overtime" expected. The pay is Y3,200 an hour before tax and insurance.

Applications need to be submitted by May 23rd. Suitable candidates will be asked to attend an interview and take a written test at the Bid Committee office in Shinjuku on June 4th. Results will be announced on June 8th. The committee wants two or three employees.

Silly that Japan can't fulfill its own milti-lingual and translation positions. After all isn't that what Nova and Gaba are all about ??? Let alone its stellar uni system.
