[floatl][/floatl]Asahi: Student wins 1st pen spinning contest
A high school student from Saitama won the nation's first pen spinning championship, held in Chuo Ward on Sunday. "I was nervous. I did not think that I could win," said Ryuki Omura, 16, who started learning pen spinning only 14 months ago. A total of 276 people applied for entry into the Pen Spinning Tournament Japan 2008 by sending footage of their skills to the Pen Spinning Association Japan's Web site. Of them, 16 applicants, who ranged from second-year junior high school students to university sophomores, were chosen for Sunday's final.
