At least a dozen people, including a police officer, were injured and five fell unconscious Sunday after a knife-wielding man attacked them in broad daylight on a street in Tokyo’s Akihabara area, firefighters said.

The firefighters said the man slashed at pedestrians with a knife. Police said they detained a man around the scene of the incident that took place around 12:30 p.m. and that the detained man arrived at the scene by car and hit several pedestrians with the vehicle.

Akihabara is an electronics quarters of Tokyo known as a center of Japanese subculture, including manga and animation, attracting many visitors from Japan and abroad.

No surprise that the AP managed to work in video games in the very first sentence of their piece on the story.

Well, he did mow down several people with a truck first. I'm guessing he got his kills there. But yeah, the pussies in the country won't even help an old lady across the street, so I doubt they'd go for a guy with a knife. Not like this this kid on the wrestling team in this school shooting in the US. What a pimp. He takes a bullet and still takes the shooter down. I bet he got a lot of pussy after that.

True; a car is a tough weapon to stop.. I'm curious how many died from knife or vehicle. I doubt the JSI can figure it out.
