Salmon Tapeworms On The Rise
Wood print depicting a man passing a strobila of a broad tapeworm. The caption said, "The man ate masu salmon. After a time, a strange object emerged from the anus and was pulled out: it turned out to be 2–3 m long." From Shinsen Yamaino Soushi, by Daizennosuke Koan (1850). Courtesy of the Tohoku University Medical Library.
Scientific American: Are urban tapeworms on the rise?
Anthony Franz says an undercooked salmon salad gave him a 9-foot-tapeworm, and in August he sued the Chicago restaurant that served it to him. If Franzfs tapeworm tale holds water – and the Chicago Sun-Times reports that the restaurant disputes his account – then itfs just one more data point to add to a growing urban tapeworm problem. Once the bane of rural Japanese villagers, a paper in the June issue of Emerging Infectious Diseases reports on the spread of the the salmon tapeworm Diphyllobothrium nihonkaiense. The parasite, which can reach lengths of 39 feet, has been steadily increasing its global distribution and prevalence – mostly among yuppies with a hankering for sashimi and ceviche. One hospital in Japan reported 14 cases last year, up from 3 cases in 2000. And starting in 2006, the tapeworm has been popping up for the first time in North America and Europe. Meanwhile, farm-raised salmon from South America have been plagued by a closely related tapeworm that normally infects perch and other freshwater fish ...more...

I heard if you get one of those worms you lose a lot of weight. Maybe I should eat more raw salmon.

How can one know if he or she has tape worms in the body, if those worms is not giving him or her any uncomfort or illness (yet)? Oh my, I have swallowed so much sashimi all these years, can someone recommend me a good pesticide?
After watching Takeshi's programme Unbelivable world about Bacteria called Viro vulnificus very recently and now reading the above article, I think I have decided to stop eating sashimi. Thay are saying these bacteria is on the rise due to the global warming.
[QUOTE ]from wikipedia: Vibrio vulnificus causes an infection often incurred after eating seafood, especially oysters; the bacteria can also enter the body through open wounds when swimming or wading in infected waters,[2] or via puncture wounds from the spines of fish such as tilapia. Symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and a blisteringdermatitis that is sometimes mistaken for pemphigus or pemphigoid. Severe symptoms and even death can occur if the bacterium enters the bloodstream—something more common in people with compromised immune systems or liver disease.[4].....
Vibrio vulnificus infection has a mortality rate of 50% with the majority of patients dying within the first 48 hours of infection. The optimal treatment is not known, but in one retrospective study of 93 patients in Taiwan, use of a third-generation cephalosporin and a tetracycline (e.g., ceftriaxone and doxycycline, respectively) were associated with an improved outcome.[5] Prospective clinical trials are needed to confirm this finding, but in vitro data supports the supposition that this combination is synergistic against Vibrio vulnificus.
Vibrio vulnificus often causes large, disfiguring ulcers which require extensive debridement or even amputation.

Don't take offence to this mate, but don't be a pussy. Shit, if you worry so much about what's going to kill you or make you sick, you'll never live life. Fuck it all, smoke it all, eat it all, then come back for seconds if you're still on two feet. That's the only way to be happy.

A tapeworm makes a great companion.
Where you go, he goes.
What you eat, he eats.
Where you shit, he shits.
What more could you want?

Thank you, but I only asked for some recommendation on pesticide, not life consultancy. I was just thinking it is stupid being killed by some sashimi's bacteria, they are not even my favorite food.
