I'm done with Rome. I love Italy but basically stay away from big cities.

Stuff is fucking expensive here, especially in west. Everything from houses and cars to sandwiches is expensive, taxed, and then taxed some more. We have the most expensive gasoline in the world. Not because it actually is expensive to get it, but because they can get away with it and we keep coughing up.
This is especially true for restaurant proprietors... fuckers. I shit you not, lots of people even go as far as driving to Belgium and Germany for a good night out... good food, low prices, nice atmosphere and polite staff. None of the shit you get in the Amsterdam tourist trap shithole.

Enjoy it while you can. They are even ruining that by slowly turning every window into an art gallery.Catoneinutica wrote:Yeah, but there's only one Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal. And it ain't in muhfuckin' Heidelberg or Brussels.
[floatl][/floatl]Deputy Rome Mayor Mauro Cutrufo offered an apology Saturday to a Japanese man who was given an outrageous bill after eating at a famous restaurant in June. Cutrufo, now in Japan to attend an event related to Italy, invited Yasuyuki Yamada, a 35-year-old business owner from Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture, to an Italian restaurant in the Tokyo Midtown complex in the Roppongi district. Cutrufo gave Yamada a silver plate. Yamada accepted the gift and expressed his thanks. Yamada and his girlfriend were handed a tab for about \95,000 after eating lunch at Il Passetto in June and reported the incident to police after paying the outrageous bill.
