It's really sad and I feel for everyone involved. At first I blamed Japanese denial of mental illnesses, but this kid is on all sorts of anti-depressants and goes to therapy sessions. Now I'm beginning to think these boys just need a swift kick in the ass. I think anybody would become depressed if you never had to struggle in order to provide for yourself, which is generally the case with these guys.
