From a genetic standpoint mixed-breed dogs, cats are generally healthier than most "pure breeds" (and humans, even J-humans, are animals after all).
From a societal viewpoint, it's even better, I think. When hafus finally become the majority Japan will have to find another group to look down on. (maybe the blue-eyed minority?) Anyhow, in another hundred years or so, we're all probably gonna be a healthy and attractive toasty beige, which is, I think to the benefit of all mankind.
I do find all the J-fretting funny, though, especially since they were never a pure race to begin with - last I read they are a genetic mix of Korean and Ainu. (gasp!!)
