I only have one pair and it's back from my Aikido days (probably not what you're looking for) but there are grad ceremony hakama sales going on all over Tokyo...

I did akido for a short time... but the teacher was so... soft with teaching us stuff. I come from a wrestling background, did judo for a few years, so i thought akido would teach me more about small joint/ligament manipulation that I could take into prospective... but no... damn teacher was all about finesse and never taught any useful stuffs i was hoping for.

I trained under two at the same time and am glad I did so. One guys was exactly as you described (and an anatomy professor to boot...which meant he could offer scientific reasons for many of the concepts and points in Aikido) whereas the other guy was rough and tumble, showed me exactly what you were wanting to learn.
