inflames wrote:Shit.... I'm actually from Chicago - I just took 94 the entire way to go to Detroit. No way I would compare Chicago and Detroit - Chicago has unsafe neighborhoods, but the north side and downtown/the loop are fine (just use common sense). When I visited Detroit in 2006, I got told that there was a robbery gone bad at the local donut place (right off of 94, which is now a cell phone place) and 3 people got killed. I didn't bother spending any time in Detroit (other than on 94 and getting off of 94) but it looks fucking terrible - like every third house was abandoned and falling apart (I heard stuff and figured it couldn't be that bad and, well, I turned out to be wrong).
If you're going to both Chicago and Detroit, going to a travel agent will probably be worth it. What you want to do (and places like Expedia and Orbitz basically don't do) is buy a ticket with a stopover. For example, if you buy Tokyo->Chicago (on Delta), and your flights will basically be Tokyo->Detroit->Chicago. Even cheap ass economy fares have a free stopover, so you simply have the travel agent book you Tokyo-> Detroit (stopover)->Chicago.

Korean Air's shamed former executive, Heather Cho, has been arrested in Seoul as a result of her behavior in the now infamous "nut rage" incident.

I don't know what to think...
The whole "merkins have them god damn right to eat the nuts" sounds st00pid...
But the "fit to fly" part is more or less sound... If only they could ground close to term preggers too... The amount of misunderstanding between the legit "right to travel" and the much more limited "right to be an entitled moron" is growing every minute...

Beer fag alert.

An agent may be worth it with the family and some off them are good on pricing but may slug you in Japan with a credit card surcharge. What an agent may get you over websites is cheaper class upgrades if you are that way inclined.

As ardent a supporter of the Beer Fag Alert programme as I am, he did say it was Korean in nature, which means it's probably garbage advertised as rare pearls.

J.A.F.O wrote:Well its been about four years since going back. So far it's been cheaper flying my family here to visit me than trying to take the whole clan home. I can't put it off any longer though. So my question is: What has been everyones preferred travel agency or carrier, or even modus operandi? So far United has had the cheapest fairs even taking into account exchange rates with JAL and ANA. Heading to Detroit if it's relevant and looking to leave early February. Any thoughts or suggestions would really be appreciated. Thank You very much for your time guys.

I always smelled something fishy about that, and wondered why it was priced so high only at Abdul's Kebab Hookah and Pussy Haven. Very clever business that. Those bars get a lot of tourists that wouldn't know any better and maybe get fooled by the funky bottle. And this isn't the bigger 500 ml bottle; it's the 12 oz one.
I've only ever drank it with the Tonkatsu set at the local greasy spoon. Washes pig meat down just fine.
