Japan's hawkish new PM has Korea-loving wife
Sun Sep 24, 3:43 PM ET
TOKYO (AFP) -
Japan is set to have a new-generation First Lady, Akie Abe, a socialite and fan of Korean culture who may be able to soften the hawkish image of her husband, incoming Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
...."I would like to do my best not to be disgraced as a Japanese woman," she told Fuji Television.....Akie Abe is known to enjoy an occasional drink. She also studies flamenco dancing, a talent she has shown off for the cameras.

In Britain, when a public figure is described in the press as "enjoying an occasional drink" then we tend to assume that person must be an ugly drunk. Which is quite an achievement with a drinking culture like ours. Other euphemisms are "carefree" and, if you're a man, "bon viveur" while a woman might be described as a "party girl". I wonder whether the same descriptive principles apply to Mrs Abe.

Hmm...Akie-chan is a flamenco private-dancer for the Japanese press corps. Gee, she does sort of sound like a lush. However, the really bizarre thing is the PM Abe is a teetotaler in Japan, the Land of Sacred Projectile-Vomiters.*
Another bizarre thing is that the Japanese Prime Minister has a wife. Why? The only time you ever see the wife of a Japanese prime minister is on overseas trips---the Japanese First Lady is always invisible. Before PM Koisumi, Japan had a new prime minister every few months and many of them I never saw their wives on TV.

I would say so. There's a greater chance of a British drunk getting violent. And Japanese drunks do try and control their vomit even though a lot of them fail. British cab drivers still swap stories of Japanese passengers who open their briefcases to chunder. There's likely nothing important in the damn bag anyway but you get the point.

Those pictures don't do her justice; Saw her at the sumo tournament last weekend, and she looked kind of hot.. Bet she has some wicked pent-up passion.. I'd spank her ass..

"First Lady" <snicker>. Meh, more like the non-entity wife of a non-entity jiminto hack, a mind-numbing succession of whom have ruled one-party Japan almost continuously since the 50s.

Makiko Tanaka - now THERE was a ball-buster! No bullshit flamenco classes for her!

And Abe (the hubby) is a teetotalin' fascist? Hmm, scratch drinking off the list of reasons why he looks so old at only 52. And that black hair dye he and seemingly every other politician in Japan uses only makes his face look that much older by contrast. Embrace the gray, like de Villepin! (If you want to spring a paradox on one of those "We Japanese" types, ask them why, if old age is so highly regarded in Japan, do some many old-timer politicians so desperately try to look younger by using that greasy black crude oil they put in their hair.)

my god that's an ugly woman. that's almost as ugly as my wife. let's hope she's got some personality. you'd think that abe, being a rich fucker, could afford to have his own wife's face fixed a little. unfortunately, i have no money, but i provide a sense of balance in the relationship by being unspeakably ugly myself. it's also worrying that her hobbies tend to the foreign. could be in a sage, imperialistic sense, of course. but looks wise, she really is a shocker.

Yes but is he a teatotaller because he turns beet red and becomes giggly when he has a sip of beer or does he also exhibit aberrant signs of vegetarianism and a animal-rights-are-more-imortant-than-human-rights ideology?

Hitler's strict vegetarian diet is also blamed for giving him chronic flatulence he was never able to cure.

All that time he was ranting and raving about the Master Race and its need for lebensraum, he was also firing off almost unending volleys of sneakers smelling every bit as foul as what he was spouting out of his mouth.

I think he found the permanent cure in early 1945. I'm to understand he hasn't farted since!

sense of reality - and sight.

That Akie Abe is so vile she makes an 80 year old plus Russian Babushka look like a supermodel. Yuk - the squashed face makes her look like some repulsive vegetable. And that's paying her a compliment.

What else would you expect as the wife of a decrepit-looking right wing Japanese nationalistic cunt?

He's liked to be peed on, too. Particularly by that girlfriend he had before Eva Braun (can't remember her name - kinda rusty on my Reich trivia).

But hey, Yamazaki (the jiminto guy with the greasy, slicked-back, jet-black hair - I know, that doesn't narrow it down much) likes to be pooped on, if his former mistress can be believed.

Japanese PM's wife reveals infertility anguish

Japanese prime minister's wife has revealed she went through fertility treatment and considered adoption but said she and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe have accepted they will have no children....She said she considered adopting a child a rare occurrence in Japan other than within extended families and noted that adoption was "very common in the United States."

"But I wasn't able to go through with it mentally and I didn't have the confidence to raise a child, so it didn't become a reality.

"I am telling myself that it must be my fate to contribute to society in some way other than rearing children," she said.

BBC: Japan PM's wife in rare interview
Japan's new first lady has given an unusually frank magazine interview about her infertility. Akie Abe, 44, married to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe since the age of 25, said she had decided to answer questions about the couple's childlessness...Mrs Abe's comments, including the revelation that the couple considered adoption, are highly unusual for Japan..."Of course, as the wife of a politician, I was under enormous pressure, including from his constituency," she told Bungei Shunju..."Now that it has become difficult because of my age, people have stopped telling me to keep trying. But in the very early stages, I did have fertility treatment"...The former DJ said her husband had once suggested that they should consider adopting a child. "I could not accept this and was not confident about bringing up an adoptee properly, so it did not happen," she said...more...

Thirst' Lady Akie Abe no punk in drublic
MSN-Mainichi, Oct 20, 2006, by FG Marvin Feltcher!
....Marriage didn't stop Akie from looking for a good time.
"In the early '90s, she used to hang out at Julianas Tokyo, the disco in Roppongi. She didn't get up on the stage and dance, just drank in the VIP Room. She was working in advertising and that's where she really learned to party," a political world insider says.
Akie fancies golf. She was a member of her college golf club and can get around 18 in under 100. But more than her boogying at Julianas and tackling the links, it's her reputation for boozing that's given her a reputation for being something of a party animal.
"Akie goes to all the parties held down amongst the voters in Abe's Yamaguchi Prefecture constituency. She guzzles down the sake like it's going out of style and then lets out a big sigh of relief. Abe's backers love her for it," an associate of the premier's support group tells Shukan Gendai...
..."She's got a favorite restaurant in (the Tokyo district of) Ebisu, where she'll pack away a few bottles of wine before moving on to the scotch and bourbon. She gets so drunk, the restaurant has to send her home in a cab sometimes," the wife of a lawyer for the Liberal Democratic Party tells the weekly.
At times, Akie's alcohol intake riles the prime minister.
"When Akie comes home blind drunk, she often takes off her clothes piece by piece and hurls them to the floor before going to sleep off her drunken stupor," a close friend of the prime minister's tells Shukan Gendai. "It really gets Shinzo mad because he has to follow her around and pick all the clothes up one-by-one and put them into the washing machine. He'll tell her off, but she just turns around and blasts him, telling him he's got no right to go off at her." ...

Former DJ shakes up Japan's dour politics as first time First Lady

Scotsman.com / 20 Oct 2006
...[First Lady Abe] has let slip personal details that would normally remain hidden: that she likes to drink - in contrast to her husband - dances flamenco and is a compulsive soap opera viewer.
Since returning from China, via Seoul, where the prime minister and his wife reprised their tasks, Mrs Abe has benefited from the appointment of two full-time advisers that elevate the prime minister's wife to a key role in the administration, fulfilling a similar role to Cherie Blair and Laura Bush.
A former foreign ministry bureaucrat has taken on the task of providing tips on etiquette when surrounded by foreign dignitaries and drawing up her schedule. A former flight attendant has also been appointed to manage her wardrobe.
"I suppose it's a quite clever ploy and deliberate effort to create the concept of a first lady, a post which is very good for the public image of Mr Abe and his 'presidency'," said Noriko Hama, a professor of economics at the Doshisha University in Kyoto.
"It's all part and parcel of the show. It's not unprecedented for a Japanese prime minister's wife to accompany him on an overseas trip, but the way they put on the show of holding hands is absolutely unheard of."
She added: "The echoes are of the US presidency and it is both deflecting questions being asked of her husband, and the criticism of the decision to drop discussions on reform of the Imperial Household Law to allow a woman to sit on the Chrysanthemum Throne.
"The Japanese public wanted a woman leader and Mrs Abe has become that surrogate."
And while Japan's women might be interested in whether Mrs Abe chooses her husband's clothes or her new hairstyle, Prof Hama said: "Women who have already made their mark in Japanese society and are doing well are cringing at this artificial creation."...more........

There have been rumors about the possibility of expanding the number of hemp licenses lately. Unfortunately, farmers must use seeds from the government that are descended from industrial hemp or as the Americans call it, ditch weed. It's only real uses are fiber and, if one is smart enough, hash. The problem with the latter is one must know the process....... which is widely available on the open internet. The cops and yaks know how easy it is to produce high quality hash from low quality weed which is why the cops post guards on the bridge from Hokkaido in late September.

Total rumor: a big part of the coming yak war is over the newest product available, BHO. Usually called "concentrates", BHO is an extraction of cannabis. Unlike hash, BHO is far harder to detect and about 100x more powerful than the best hash. Is it healthy? Probably not. The problem is one big hit is equal to five or more grams of medical bud. BHO, due to it's potency, is very attractive here. Factor in the random effects of the "dangerous" drug category and the low cost of BHO, one can see the attractiveness.

Now, historically asa was a very important crop. I can't even count the number of times that farmers in my area complain about how the old stuff was better (shogi doors)

The problem is the same as the US, a person can grow better stuff at home than a big company could ever hope to. In a country where government is run by the companies............ yea.......
