I don't get well the logic "if it's free it have to be shit and you have to say thanks".

Beside, Google is not free, it's not because the paiement is done by companies that are buying ads and pay for me that the service is free.
Plus, Google managed to get the autorisation to roam in gunkanjima which is not given to everybody.
They are in the business of litteral honey trap.
Their job is to make product that bring people in so they can either spy on their communication or shovel commercials.
Some of their products despite being useful, are discontinued without real logic nor reason, and there is no possibility to pay them to keep the service...
I have few googles shares fo shit and giggles, as a shareholder I worry that the company seems to be eager to turn to shit faster than microsoft...
(btw, sorry, I should have said that to find Gunkanjima on google map you have to type gunkanjima in the addresse field of google map...)

Also... if I could have me muney back everytime I buy a product that sucks donkey balls it'eud'be awesum... (and Nissan would go chapter 11 overnight...)

I'mma jump in here and agree. WTF is Google's deal with taking moderately successful to genuinely popular services and shit-canning them? They could spin them into subcompanies at a dizzying rate and let them try to become profitable on their own without really impacting Google's bottom line at all. Instead they mothball it entirely.

How long until they close G-mail? Its still only in beta.

How long until Maps goes away? another beta product/service.

Don't put a damned thing on Google Drive. Not only will they crawl any data for more targeted advertising, it'll get canned in another 2 years.

They have no real direction and for a while its served them well, but as they continue to experiment and work with higher level products made by design teams with more experience under their belts than most start ups, the products they make will find an audience and Google will alienate that audience from all the rest of their services when they shutter those products.

Its friggin stupid. They won't sell them, and they won't spin them off. They just close it, no explanation given.

I'm already looking for a new email service.
