Letting clearly think they also fucked up their diags.
Purpura (from Latin: purpura, meaning "purple") are red or purple discolorations on the skin that do not blanch on applying pressure. They are caused by bleeding underneath the skin usually secondary to vasculitis or dietary deficiency of vitamin C (scurvy).[1] Purpura measure 0.3–1 cm (3–10 mm), whereas petechiae measure less than 3 mm, and ecchymoses greater than 1 cm.[2]
This is common with typhus and can be present with meningitis caused by meningococci or septicaemia. In particular, meningococcus (Neisseria meningitidis), a Gram-negative diplococcus organism, releases endotoxin when it lyses. Endotoxin activates the Hageman factor (clotting factor XII), which causes disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC). The DIC is what appears as a rash on the affected individual.

Any half competent doctor with these signs in a 6 year old should have been worried about meningitis. And that's that.

That ranking isn't based on quality of doctors and nurses though, it's ranking health systems. A large part of the score comes from Fairness of financial contribution, equality of health, and the overall health level of the country.

Wage Slave wrote:How do you know that? And how do you know she wasn't treated for meningitis at the other hospital? All we have so far is a sketchy report in the press that she had one one the classic signs (not a symptom BTW) of meningitis. I don't know exactly what happened either but there is plenty enough evidence to justify an investigation into why a 6 year old with that particular and singular rash was sent on her way without proper investigation or treatment. If that had happened in the UK there would be hell to pay no matter what else - and the medical profession would be more upset than anyone.

It was almost 2 A.M when they properly reached out to us and asked us to leave since they couldn't do anything for us. I insisted, asking for a letter of transfer to another hospital

Clashing energy interests on the Japanese island of Kyushu have prompted Japan's government to clamp down on solar power development nationwide. While the government calls it a necessary revision to assure grid stability amidst rapidly rising levels of intermittent solar energy, critics see a pro-nuclear agenda at work—one that could stunt Japan's renewable energy potential.
