You should never have to pay for a taxi in Vegas.

Now its true that someone could have searched and found this story about John, but because of you, it now pops up immediately on a google search. Congratulations small penis.
So lets go through what ACTUALLY happened before it was all embellished by the Japanese police and press. John was in the cab with only 2000 yen (why? I don't know). He didn't walk off without paying the "measly" fare. He didn't have it on him. He and the driver had agreed to a fare of 2000 yen. The driver knew exactly what he was doing. He knew John had been drinking, and changed the fare after they had agreed on a price. He knew that John's story would never be believed because Japanese people (in Japan...not in the US) don't like Americans (gaijin=outsider=not worthy of my time). They argued and the driver assaulted John. John DID NOT punch the driver in the face. The driver flagged down a cops and told them that he had refused to pay (anything) and that he had been assaulted. John was immediately arrested with no investigation and locked up with no phone call, no charges...NOTHING. They were legally able to hold him for 23 days without a charge or a phone call. Finally they charged John with ROBBERY RESULTING IN BODILY INJURY!! Are you kidding me? The cab driver immediately got fitted with a neck brace and took off two weeks of work. In the end, he settled for a nice piece of cash, and John was let out. This guy knew EXACTLY what he was doing, and has likely victimized other foreigners this way as well. That's the story, but even if the story was exactly as the paper printed it, how is it NEWS and worthy of all this discussion, and stalking a man and posting his dating site profile??? You should be ashamed of yourselves!! Where I am from, the cab driver would've been arrested for putting his hands on a customer. Just remember douchebag who originally STALKED John and posted this...what goes around comes around...and you'll get your's. My suggestion: apology and erase this thread afterwards.
