The magazine Private Eye (no direct link) claims that the English version of the Yomiuri Shimbun printed the following paragraph:

Newsweek screwed up. Nearly everyone admits that, including the magazine's editors, who retracted an inadequately sourced report that U.S. interrogators had flushed a Korean down the toilet at Guantanamo Bay.

This isn't on the Yomiuri site but a quick google for "flushed a Korean" has one guy here claiming

I have in my hand an op-ed from the Dallas Morning News, May 19, reprinted in The Daily Yomiuri. Entitled "Where's the Muslim outrage over other atrocities?", it refers to an incident at Guantanamo involving interrogators who "had flushed a Korean down the toilet."

Reuters appear to have had a similar problem

In WASHINGTON story headlined "UPDATE 1-Newsweek retracts story on Koran under pressure," please read in second paragraph ...had uncovered Koran abuse... instead of ...had uncovered Korean abuse (Corrects to Koran not Korean)

The US Department of Defense seems to think the story was that

U.S. interrogators in Guantanamo Bay had flushed a copy of the Korean down a toilet

although they don't identify the Korean. More confusingly

One log entry, still unconfirmed, did note that a detainee had been found "ripping pages out of the Korean and putting them in the toilet to stop it up as a protest,"

Obviously a screwup. Story should have read 'Tokyo East Detention Center flushes Korean down the Toilet'

That may not have been a spelling mistake. Dimwit may have just stuffed ole Kim down the poop chute on purpose
