Asian pet collectors will pay up to $10,000 to own a rare Australian stag-beetle....Two [Japanese] men allegedly stole 1000 of the endangered species known as lamprima insularis from their hiding places at Lord Howe Island in December...The Japanese nationals were stopped by Customs officers at Sydney Airport who allegedly found the beetles secreted in cereal and biscuit packets...
