Yup, but usually it's neatly packed in a box under some special(TM) smell absorbing bacteria killing self agglomerating sand. Not liquid turds squirted floor to ceiling in panic like it was for 3/11...

Why did I even look? MQT's 5 favorite ways of dealing with haters on Social Media http://www.michaelqtodd.com/haters

But hang on, although this has just been tweeted by MQT a couple of days ago, it is content from 23 April.

OK, now I'm just off to keep positive out there in Social media land and just stick to my own beautiful path.
I especially like the way the comments thread quickly becomes a spamathon.

The Onion wrote:'I Am A Brand,' Pathetic Man Says

SEATTLE—Sad, pathetic local web developer and blogger Phillip Cathin, 34, told reporters today that he sees himself as “a brand.”

The pitiful man, who works in development and design at the Seattle-based software company Woot, told reporters he takes time out of every day to “promote and further [his] brand” and to extend his “social and online presence.”

“I am my own product,” the little worm said while staring at a laptop and depressingly shuffling between his Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Plus, and Tumblr accounts, which he claimed are “essential tools for growing [his] personal brand” on a daily basis.
...
The unbelievably tragic man also stated that everything he does, from social interactions to visits with his family, essentially serves to continue building his brand.
...

The cool kids have moved on

http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2012/nov/30/checking-my-email-kevin-barry

A few months ago, I spoke to some art students, and we talked about the internet and its effects. It appears that the cool thing now for arty kids in their early 20s is to go offline. They spoke happily of closing their Facebook accounts and giving up Twitter. The internet, they suggested, has become a bit of a Dad thing. They seemed to me to be much less excited about it than my own generation is. It was as boring to them as television was to me when I was in my 20s – I just wasn't arsed about it; it was what middle-aged people did – and I wonder now if the coming multitudes might not be so bad after all.

I haven't got time to devote to Mr Todd right now, but in just the first three minutes I have more information than I really want: the origin of the "Q," and an admission of performing work activities.

Dense. I'm talking about the content density of the video, guys.

Using fast forward you can hear:
☠ 17:23 ---Immigration Detention Center is "not that bad," "you've got quite a few TV channels from 7 to 10 at night," three "decent" bento meals a day and "allowed to go the exercise place twice a day"
☠ 18:27 --- "You can visitors as many as you like for a half hour a day...during visiting hours...max of 10"
☠ 20:18 -- MQT is writing a book that is "pretty far along" about "nationalism is increasing in the world" and "experiences of being a foreigner" in Japan (and jail).
☠ 20:17---MQT will be featured on a longer live 2.5 Oyaji broadcast before the end of the year!
☠ 20:31---Leave questions to ask MQT on the live show in the Comments section at http://youtu.be/M2yBmiyfFzs

Yes well the youtube comments section is behaving like a youtube comments section: not much usable content coming out of that. The vlogcast will just have to be plugging his upcoming book.

I won't waste time on watching this, and that's saying something. I love wasting time on the net.

Could anyone who did watch answer these questions?

A lot of people would like to know the truth of his visa situation for future reference. Is there a full, believable account of what happened?
Any mention regarding whether he's giving back that $5700, as he said he would?

Jokes aside, from what I've seen, it looks like the only useful bit of info from the whole saga is:
"You can get out of being deported for overstaying and working illegally IF a Japanese citizen will marry you while you're in jail"
That's cool if you can manage, I guess. Doesn't help most people.

I could only bear it up to where the doofus on the right explains the Q in his name before I clicked on another of video of the doofus on the left, titled "Sad & Lonely in Japan" (apt title methinks).
I'm guessing this doofus doesn't have a significant other, hence the title. Anyway, he started rambling on about watching some housewives show and I stopped it there, and saw this gem in the comments:
"Desperate House Wifes = これはなんですかくそ..."

I think, you have to be digital lifestyle specialist first, then you have to apply for social media jobs, after few years you might be abul to graduate to twitter coaching/consulting.

But the prerequisite seems to be full of shit without spilling too much on the carpet...

Ackshually I could use a good Twitter coach... recently I read something like "search for #interestinghashtag on twitter.com", so I dutifully went to twitter.com and was bemused by the lack of any kind of obvious search facility. There must something about this whole social media thing I am just not "getting". Maybe I have to retweet a hashtag through my Facebook channel first?

I loved that!
I thought people like that existed only in comedy routines where someone is taking the piss. But, no! There's actually people who do that sort of shite! Fuck, am I naive.
Mind you, I can feel all this wonderful, positive energy channeling through my urethra. Maybe I need a new middle name? Wanker, perhaps? Nah, too obvious. How about Q? It's Chinese for "Chee," that bullshit factor that sucks gullible Westerners in because it sounds like it comes from the exotic Orient. Q is already taken? Well, then, how about Far Q?

Wait... the vid is that funny? Like Godzilla vs. Megalon funny?
Now I'm torn. Should I save the vid for when I need a laugh? Or is the BS content just too high to enjoy it?
Or is this something Dr. Forrester would send to the S.O.L. when he's in an especially mean mood such that the MST3k crew are reduced to begging to make it stop?

I watched the first couple of minutes and it made me want to punch a smug cunt in the face.

It might be good for a buzzword bingo-style drinking game... every time a word like "dolphins" or "social media" is mentioned, take a swig of One Cup.
