The FB is sad. Drank the Qool-aid. No further comment. Unlike CJ, I don't get kicks out of ridiculing innocent Asian females.

Is she in NZ? How long can a foreign spouse stay in NZ before needing a marriage visa or something? She had better look into this herself, wouldn't trust any advice from Mr. Todd on overstayer issues.

Announces he got "permanent visa" as an add on to his post about getting a "1 year" visa. 1 year = permanent?
Also, he wrote a book! 7 pillars of getting social media famous or something. Genius trailblazer! Why didn't anyone think of writing such a book before? :keyboardcoffee: Assume pillar 1 is "the truth is flexible" pillar 2? "Verrrrrrrrry flexible"

Won't be surprised if his new drama winds up the same as the last with vague claims and bs. Can't assume any claim of his as true. Tax department might not even be involved. He might not even have been denied travel. He's not obliged to talk, but it would be a nice selfless act to let other people learn from his mistakes.

But I changed my mind. Giving honest advice about such situations so that deadbeats can be more efficient? That's not a good thing. Keep on doing what you're doing! If this all somehow ends up in an online fundraising effort....

completely unrelated legal question: In NZ does the tax department enforce claims on unpaid child support?

In New Zealand, the tax dept is referred to as the NZ Inland Revenue and it appears they have a division dedicated to child support: http://www.ird.govt.nz/childsupport/ Your guess that Qool-AIDS is being detained for being a deadbeat dad is very likely correct.

Looks like the fourth marriage is over. At least in M気T's mind, who announced it to the world on Facebook and changed his status to "single", changed his residence from her home in Yokohama to Shinjuku (is he living in a box?), and announced that he was going to a "singles party this Saturday"

The reason for ending the marriage? According to him, she slapped him for forgetting her birthday.

No, I am not making this up.

facebook.com/michaelqtodd/posts/10151587741468710

Did that fourth marriage even last a half a year?

I am sure there are plenty of other gullible women out there who can support this man-child in the manner to which he is accustomed.

Domestic violence???

Sounds like there is plenty more to the story. But it is most likely so tragic, that I have little interest in it.

But at least he can hope that immigration is not reading his Facebook.

Regarding his still hot-off-the-presses get out of immigration deportation and detention Residency Card with 日本人の配偶者等 status, immigration can't really take it away from him until he attempts to renew it next year. His chances at PR (which he said he was applying for immediately after getting married) are pretty much torpedoed, though.

Once again, he is living his life out in public. I suppose that gives us licence to make comment. All I will say is that this makes a dent in the "think positive thoughts and life will be excellent" theory. That always struck me as a full-on case of chronic 空元気 anyway.

Mate, I don't care if it increases your social media footprint, it is better for you, for me, and for everyone else if you don't display every GT-striped pair of y-fronts and the rest of your dirty laundry out for everyone to see. You could almost think that you have worn all of your true mates into the ground years ago and you have no one to consult with in private about this stuff. Oh, hang on...

OK - I am going to be mean spirited here.

This is perhaps because he never sees them as he is too busy improving his social media footprint. He has come across in his online oversharing as the very definition of a dead-beat dad.

Well, seeing as everyone is sticking the boot in, I hope his vasectomy reversal didn't see full, 100% mission accomplished operation, otherwise the lives of three people (four if blessed with twins) will get even more messed up.

One of the more astute comments on that thread packed with social media enablers...
Good luck to you. Truly. I can't help but see that you are blaming her 100% and will move onto another relationship with a similar outcome. There is no love or forgiveness in your process. Sadly, you are reliving your relationship with your mother over and over again.

Personally, from what I saw previously of soon-to-be-ex-no-4's FB page, they deserved each other. I also suspect there were a lot of forgotten promises leading up to that "forgotten birthday" drama.

Thanks, but actually I don't call myself Japanese, unless somebody asks me a direct nationality question like "What's your citizenship?"

I usually say something like "I'm American but now have only Japanese nationality." (『アメリカ出身だが、もう日本国籍を取得した』) if somebody generically asks what I am. In other others, I usually suffix "Japanese" with "citizen" etc. when referring to myself.

Going around saying "I'm Japanese" or "I'm not American" and then getting all emo about it when people don't initially understand sounds like something a Debitard.org P.C.er would do. And saying I'm "American-Japanese" or "Caucasian-Japanese" or "White-Japanese" sounds just as stupid as calling a child a "double" (they have one DNA set and one head, two arms, two legs, ten fingers and toes thank you).

Image

Oh yeah, the word "gaijin" doesn't bother me either. :three:

Now if you excuse me, I need to do some research for the upcoming election this 21st (it seems like all I do these days is vote: Lower House, Tokyo City Assembly, now Upper House... all in a few months).

I think I may now change my choice to a candidate that has the strongest opinion on immigration: especially overstayers and those using convenience marriages and sperm to stay in the country.
