Make sense as a city car before we go all electric...

would make much more sense as a serial hybrid in 2 version, one with turbine generator, one with bigger battery pack...

Parallel hybrid are a little too random in their behaviour for my taste... too often the Hinsight started charging batteries while going uphill for no good reason, turning the trip into a challenge...

I'd rather have an totally-decoupled-from-the-drivetrain turbine generator and a smallish, state-of-the-art battery. The idea of "enforced" breaks at a pie-shop to let the turbine generator recharge the battery every 100 miles (160km) is just fine with me (that's the standard way I go cross-country on a motorcycle).

I prefer driving the Mother Road---old Route 66 to boring I-40, or the Pan-American Highway---Hwy 287 compared to white-bread I-25.
(I've done the Pan-American from Alaska to Peru once on an OSSA 500cc bike, and the Mother Road more than 20 times.)

that's what i meant, turbine are good for high rpm power generators, not for drivetrain coupling. (Does sumbody knows how the M1A is propelled ? i don't think the turbine drive the caterpillars...)
