I've bought two beds from Muji and been satisfied. Their lower end beds with the feet that screw into the bottom are reasonably priced and comfortable if you like a firm mattress which I do.

The best thing to do would be to go to a furniture store and test some mattresses and or beds. Without more specifics, it's difficult to advise you further.

I had a Muji bed and mattress until very recently. The frame is reasonable, if a bit creaky, but the mattress wasn't really up to snuff. Expect to pay ¥70,000-¥100,000 for a reasonably decent double mattress.

The cats night pillows are all memory foam and they wont go anywhere else for their daytime vampire sleep.

Icu medical beds are all memoryfoam too... That stuff is great... Makes awesome insert for semi pneumatic RC truck tires too...

We have a tempur mattress topper - cost a bomb but worth every cent. I wish I could take it on holidays with us. Memory foam is awesome!!
