We are looking for a place in Japan to stay AND do business from. 90% of the business is exporting via a current yard we share in Yokohama. So all we need is a place to sleep, store some items before delivering to the docks, a place to do office work, and close to Yokohama and Chiba. We dont need anything spectacular or close to the city as we will be purchasing a delivery van anyway and travelling via train/car all over Japan (well just to Osaka but how much of Japan is there? :P).
The next stage of the business is to set up a office and/or house in Japan.
I am wondering a few things firstly;
1. Are you allowed to conduct business from a house in Japan - legally? Are you allowed to have a home office? I know lots of the businesses in Japan are homes and business - ie conbini, but I am asking about us Gaijins
2. Does anyone have a place as described? We would be after something at least 30m2 including Bathroom, Kitchen etc and are prepared to pay well for it. The areas of Fujisawa to Hiratsuka, Tsurumi, or nothing available in those areas, anywhere in Chiba would be preferred. (Adachi is in Chiba isnt it? If so that would be a good place also) Would also need access to at least 1 parking bay preferably 2. Would NOT like to live in a big aparment building ie 10 floor building if possible.
We are not so fussed about the structure of the business and what not as we will either conduct it as a Branch office - or as a GK (once new system is in) through an old old Japanese friend (who we currently share the yard with)
