"the thing" prequel

In case you missed the news, the prequel of Carpenter's "the Thing" is out. Despite featuring the daughter of John McLane (DH4) in the lead role which have a little something for her even if you certainly would not be able to spot her in a crowd at the mall, that movie is totally useless.
Characters are flat. Monster design is boring to death, no highlights, no cringeworthy features, just bland CGs. They don't think twice aboot making a rampaging braindead multimorphic beast able to control a spaceship. Nothing more is revealed than on the first movie... mostly because it already told everything...

It's a bit like making a prequel to the X-Files were they promise to explain you the origins of Fox Mulder's character... and you discover that the movie only show Mr Mulder boning Mrs Mulder and this is how babees are made...
