I have an e-mail from a TV crew from the PI looking to interview hardcore Japanese horror fans for a doc they are doing. Shoots will be in Kyoto 10-12th. PM me if you want details.

No, sober...
The asswipes japs movies that get labelled as horror by some delusionnal weaboos makes asylum production looks like Cannes's festival entries (ok, maybe not disaster wars "earthquake versus tsunami" but at least they had Reggie Bannister init)
No matter how many typewriter or camera you give to monkeys. The end results will be shit flinging against walls...

Let me sum up 90% of the production

image.jpeg

Shitty makeup, pathethic acting, and 3rd grade level storyline.

Then 10% remaining just mix shitty over acting with litteral shit flinging.

Even Thailand, indonesia and the Philipines have better movies despite having not discovered indoor plumbing yet.

I don't know the difference between Horror and Thriller movies, but Cure (1997; Koji Yakusho) was taut and well done, and Ju-on was definitely creepy and chilly. Not the one with Buffy, though people said it was a faithful remake. Back in the day I enjoyed Chakushin Ari or one of those, but that's probably just because it has Nana-chan in it. Sheez so purty.

EDIT: it was Ring she was in

To be fair to Coligny, it's probably just because he knows certain movies are either French (and so must be good) or Japanese (and must be terrible).

I'm generally pretty neutral about horror movies but I agree that Ju-on was pretty damn creepy.

If that pretty girl that got eaten under the covers was hotter (aka taller and bigger) I would have popped it in the movie house I was in when we saw it.

Misaki Ito. Too pretty for words, too skinny for sex. Great eyes.

She looked pretty good getting eaten though. Under the covers. Stealth Munch, as we used to call it.
In my defence...........
