Funny...Japan produces the absolute best "old fashioned" (although they include more and more CG these days) animated films, while the US excels in rendered 3D CG movies. The funny part is, their CG nature isn't the only reason the recent American CG movies were so good, their writing was excellent too. This new technology really is driving creativity in character development and such, in the US anyway. Part of me wants to see Japan follow suit, but honestly, I prefer old fashioned animation to 3D CG, and I don't want to see the old school stuff fade away in Japan.

...was awesome. It really tested my wife's grasp on American culture (she totally got thrown by the Tiny Tim reference at the end of the movie)

I meant that it was a reference to Disney's "A Christmas Carol" (which of course is taken from Dickens' book).
