For some reason my son has decided he doesn't like the French. I started naming various French people and extolling their contributions to the world. Descartes, Camus, Sartre, Rousseau, Marie Curie, Cézanne, Matisse, Monet....nothing. Zinedine Zidane, Bernard Hinault, Jacques Anquetil....nothing. Not even Jacques Cousteau or Jean Reno or Brigitte Bardot would get a nod of approval out of him.

But when I said, hey, how about Andre the Giant? He's a pretty cool french guy, huh? He had to give me that one.
