Japan’s new national stadium is one step closer to finding a designer. Eleven practices, including Olympic stadium designers Zaha Hadid and Populous, have been shortlisted for the competition to design the new stadium. Urr, umm...Can somebody explain why they need to build new fucking stadium when there's several brand-new, unused, soccer/football stadiums within 20km of the proposed site of this new stadium? Shin-Yokohama's Nissan Stadium is only used a few days a year.
Sheee-it, even the existing Imperial Chichibunomiya Rugby Stadium that they are planning to tear down for this new one was completely rebuilt in 2003 for the fifth Rugby World Cup.
