Honey Badger

Postby wagyl » Fri Jul 04, 2014 11:00 am

Another ball game thread, which I am the least qualified to comment on, but the news seems to be that a Rugby player known for entertaining post match interviews will be playing for Fukuoka team Cocoa Cola West Red Sparks.

For the uninitiated, "Meat" -> meat pie -> try. Apparently.

a) He is not a Brit. He will tell you that. Brits will tell you that. You damn Yank

b) I understand he got the nickname after the video (apparently) became a meme.

First time I have seen that video. Could you get a more fabulously camp narration?

I know, hence the "Bogan" reference...but it wouldn't really make sense to say "Aussie for Bogan." Unfortunately, in J-land, the extra level of language confusion won't go over so well. I do, however, imagine commercials and/or other vids of "Honey Badger & the Japs" for Aussie consumption

Worth a good laugh no matter how many times you've seen it.

Well he didn't survive long in Japan but he did get a commercial spot.

Personally, I think he is better when he does his own material. He is not a natural with a scripted piece. Although to be fair, anyone trying to force a cool social media hashtag in there would be struggling.

If 15 seconds is not enough, there is the 30 second spot.
