BB yahoo connectivity problem

arrived two days ago with my japanese friend who has a yahoo BB phone broadband connection for her PC. I carry my own notebook and had connected it to her internet connection and it worked fine using firefox. Then she wanted to go online and I plugged the broadband cable back into her PC, after launching IE it said: no connection, working offline ( well, something of that meaning in japanese which I can't read ).
Her PC has japanese OS and I do not know how to get her online again, stangely also when plugged back to my notebook only firefox would work, trying with IE I also get the message that I am not connected.

Please anybody help me, I feel so very embarrassed since it was me who screwed up her being connected.

The description of your problem was rather vague. However let me venture a guess at how to solve your problem.

You'll have to do this thing to your stuff, and then something else, and then it will start working again.
