Also, the preference screens are totally different version based on the main language.

If you are in english you got all the google+ shovelling in your face
When you are in japanese it's a bit of a semi modern twilight zone but without any main language selection available.
When you are in creole it's google circa 2001, but at least allow for language selection... Even for menus in alien languages... Like fucking Klingon... The pop up is still readable for at least "h4ck3r" so after that you can try to go back to english... Then fight to try to have the good account as default... Which is not set in a pref but as the first account you use to log in...
And for more fun, everything is different based on the fact that you are logged or not.

OK, now I get Coligny's problem.

I have been occasionally annoyed when they choose the wrong language, but nowadays they seem to somehow understand my order of preference of the three languages I use.

Youtube seems to have improved in that regard too.

Anyway, I started wondering whether it is time to switch to a search engine that is much simpler in its interface:

Well, slightly tangential, if not holey so, but does anybody know how to permanently set Google search settings so that search items in Japanese script always return only Japanese results? Alternatively, is there a way to systematically block Chinese results?

Just the sight of the words 'baidu.com' are starting to have serious Pavlovian effects.

Alternative search engine or browser recommendations also welcome.
