Casting dancers, musical theatre performers, and principal vocalists for spring 2006 contracts. Shows include "Encore," "One Man's Dream," "SailAway," "Mystic Rhythms," and "Under The Sea." Rehearsals take place in Tokyo and begin in early 2006. Contracts run for approximately seven months on a five-day-a-week schedule.
Seeking -- Dancers: males and females, more than 65 dancers per contract, each show has specific requirements, all dancers must be trained in ballet and jazz with a strong musical theatre style presence, tap requirements vary by show, dancers with strong pas de deux work, solo tapping skills, and tumbling training are highly encouraged to attend the auditions, there is a specific need for Latin and African-American male dancers for "Mystic Rhythms" and female dancers with strong ballet for "Under the Sea" (note: there are no positions for hip-hop/street-style dancing);
Sopranos: four females, for "Encore," 5'3"-5'8", will sing such Broadway classics as "Summertime" and "Make Believe," must have beautifully trained soprano voices with effortless F#, movement a plus;
Belters: four females, for "Encore," 5'3"-5'8", with strong mix, must have thrilling voices with dynamic stage presence, movement a plus, will sing "Everything's Coming Up Roses," "Memory," and "Don't Cry for Me Argentina;"
Slue Foot Sue: two females, 5'4"-5'9", to perform in "Diamond Horseshoe Revue," must have both a belt and soprano voice, versatile performers who can dance the cancan, sing a beautiful ballad, and keep the party going, dance training is not required;
Mira Costa Vocalists: two females, to perform on the Disney Hotel property, beautiful "Gloria Estefan"-like vocalists, great pop sound, movement a plus; Baritones: eight males, 5'9"-6'2", must be able to sing such Broadway standards as "On The Street Where You Live" and "Some Enchanted Evening," ability to easily sustain a G, movement a plus;
Bass/Baritones: two males, for "Horseshoe Roundup," 5'10"-6'2"; Diamond Jim: males, must have beautiful rich voices to sing "Old Man River," must have great personality with the ability to interact with the audience;
Tenors: two males, for "Minnie Oh! Minnie," "Ricky Martin"-like, pop feel and style, movement and ability to sing in Spanish a plus.
Note: All applicants must be ages 18+ and willing to relocate to Tokyo for the terms of their individual contracts. More info
