Cheapie phone plans

Postby matsuki » Wed Oct 05, 2011 10:49 am

So I need to buy a separate keitai for a new business venture and while I am up to date with data plans for smart phones, I apparently know jack shit about the most basic of plans. As most calls for this phone will be incoming, I suspect that will be my best route. Since I'm with Docomo already, I am inclined to go with whatever they offer but wanted to know if you guys had any other suggestions?? Don't need data or e-mail at all.

Just to start the discussion going, Docomo, au and Softbank all have the same 980 Yen basic package if you go with two year contracts and don't want any bells or whistles at all. With Docomo, you can link the phone accounts into a family and share the unused included 1000 Yen credit with your private mobile account. Softbank, and soon/already au, offer an option of not having that 1000 Yen credit but allowing free calls within the network, if that is more attractive to you.

I don't know whether prepaid mobiles are an option any more. And I haven't looked at Willcom or e Mobile basic plans, if they are suitable to your needs.

That's more than reasonable...wonder how b-mobile and e-mobile voice only (if they offer it) stacks up. I suppose prepaid might work as well...

Too bad google voice isn't available here yet. Love that when I'm in the U.S. Auto fwds to whatever number you happen to want to use and transcribes voice mails.
