Every Little Thing Falls Flat

Itai News reports (Japanese) that fans are wondering what the hell happened to Kaori Mochida's voice when she appeared on an NTV music programme. The singer for Every Little Thing seemed to be singing flat and out of tune, very different from her usual performances on TV. It seems like she might have had a throat infection but no announcement to that effect was made before or afterwards. Here's what she usually sounds like live and on a recording:

Some say Ayumi Hamasaki also struggled at times on the same show but I haven't had the courage to watch the clip past the first few bars:

Just goes to show you how much more important the producers are than the singers. So many of them canNOT sing that well, but they look good and and dance hotly. So they get jobs.

Then there's Hamasaki... she doesn't even look human anymore.

Needs some Autotune the Mochida

The wifey was watching that song broadcast and I was doing some work on the computer when Hamasaki Ayumi started to sing, and I couldn't beleive how bad her voice was and the singing was, off key, flat and just down right bad. I agree that the producers do wonders for these singers, who are all show and not that talented at all.

Trying to fix it for you...

Link because 30 years after it might now be considered NSFW... gotta love the return of the dark ages...

Mylene Farmer in "Libertine"...

Good stuff start at 2:30 (this is the 10 minute version with unnecessary explanation of the birth of the rivalry with Sophie Tellier the courtisane).

This was daytime TV stuff in the 1980' France...

And I like totally forgotzored aboot 'Beyond My Control'

This clip actually got little problems with the wolf eating meat scene so it was an after 20:00 broadcast only

(In case you are wondering, yes she was batshit insane, yes she still is batshit insane, and she was mentoring Alizee... who strangely didn't seems to have turned that batshit insane)
