RIP Poly Styrene of X-Ray Spex
She was pretty well-known in Japanese music circles even though her band's output at the peak of punk was fairly minimal. A reformed X-Ray Spex played some gigs in Japan in 1996 and Poly probably would have visited again with her new music.
