If I book my ticket now, and it goes up will I have to pay the increased charge. Or if it goes down will i get a rebate? Does anybody know will it increase or decrease, this October? ANA has a decent price round trip Narita to Ottawa for Y116K. Should I book now or wait? Advice please.
canman wrote:One more airline related question. Unfortunately the most convenient and moderately priced flight I can find is with Delta. Of course they won't update their fuel surcharge prices until November 1st, but non-the-less. what I would like to know, if I book a ticket with them now, and it is confirmed, but in the future before flying, they change the dates or times, etc., do i have any right to change my flights or am i screwed? As it is right now the flight times are really good, but I worry that they might cancel the flight or push things to a later time. Thanks
canman wrote:Thanks for the responses, while I was booking my ticket, Delta has an online chat with a representative function, so I asked about the fuel surcharge question, to which she answered, sure you can change your ticket if the fuel surcharge has gone down, but it will cost you $150 to get a new ticket. So the oil surcharge is to drop $50, and I am going to pay $150 to get a new ticket issued. I think not.
Also it seems they have the right to change any flight, at anytime, and as long as they offer you another, you are SOL as to the time etc.

I silently pray for the day Quntas goes tits-up even though it's gonna make my old man blow a gasket.

What, you *don't* have your own jet pack? I guess you never got the memo then.

Come on now, don't exaggerate at the old man's expense. He arrived on a whaling ship shortly after Perry opened the place up.

canman wrote:Sorry to bring life to a long forgotten thread, but I just read that as of February, airlines are going to start to impose the fuel surcharge again. Even though the price of oil has remained fairly low, those bloodsuckers just can't wait. I guess they figure with the new OPEC agreement it will only be a matter of time until the price skyrockets and we will get screwed again by everybody. God I hate airlines! And Abe, just wanted to throw that in!
