(Hey, you never know when you might need the gear to jumpstart a nukular aircraft carrier stranded on the side of the road... Funnily or not... much more a real actual possibility than a bad joke since 3/11)
Friend of mine from Hokkaido (Japanese jiji) that had an older Delica 4x4, loaded with all kinds of goodies, got arrested when he came to watch a hockey game in Tokyo. Cops searched his van "because it looked out of place" and found some of his survival/outdoor gear that the police claimed was "technically" illegal to have in the vehicle. (I want to say it was an axe but it might have been one of his saws that they wrote him up for) He ended paying a fine and getting released but the poor guy missed the hockey game and spent several days in detention over some really really lame bullshit. (that would have likely been avoided if he refused to submit to a search...he was simply parking when they approached him)

Or maybe I don't automatically side with the gaijin because gaijin.
As a young adult in the UK I was stopped and questioned by the cops twice for no apparent reason, does that make me a white nigger?
Neither are we, d00d was dumb and got popped. It's the tactics/methods by the cops, not just who they're targeting. Maybe I take it a lil more personal but having experienced the J-police SOP of surrounding you and closing in, to force cooperation, I felt bad watching how shit escalated in the vid. (regardless if the guy was gaijin or not) The program narration and focus is just insane...ZZZomg! He batted the officer's hand away....then the officer goes in and grabs him by the wrist. WHY is he struggling?? (how about because he's being manhandled?)
