AFAIK no country has yet succeeded in reversing a negative population growth rate "naturally", even countries like Germany that have gotten *very* serious about it. This doesn't mean that Japan can't do it but I don't see Japan suddenly becoming a leader in this area.

I agree that multiculturalism would be good to avoid. As mentioned in my post above, part of having more non-Japanese here would be finding ways to integrate them into Japanese society.
