For about 6 months? I'm new here and I'd appreciate any input. I left Japan not so long ago because of a matter in my home country. The timing was bad for me but not so bad for my workplaces.
I was between contracts and so my giving notice was not a problem for 3 of my workplaces. The only workplace where I wasn't, was a kindergarten that had not given me an on paper contract despite my requests over 3 years. The owners kept the privilege of hiring and firing undocumented and would have told me to go with no notice had it suited them. Therefore it didn't worry me quitting that job with 2 weeks notice to go back to an emergency situation in my home country.
I didn't want to leave Japan but I felt obliged to someone at home. It was sufficiently serious to make me think that they were more important. I miss Japan and I still have until March next year on my visa. I was wondering if anyone here knows whether there is any chance of my getting hired for a job of limited duration such as 6 months by an employer in Japan despite living in my home country at the moment.
I am a serious teacher, and can prove a decent employment record both outside and within the 5 years I spent in Japan. The only problem is I can't come to Japan for an interview as it may not be worth my paying the airfare if I am turned down. Factor in the inevitable aparto costs etc and it's not worth coming in case I get a job.
Does anybody know anything that could help me? I've done job searches on the net but nothing has come up. Again, I stress I am an experienced teacher with 5 solid years of employment in Japan and considerable work and life experience outside of it. Thanks for any advice.
BTW - I love this website Taro and the various posters make me laugh. A great blend of the comical and the serious!
